What distracts your attention in 2020? All the suffering and racial discrimination is hard to imagine at this time. Why now? Is it because we are more aware, less afraid to share what truly matters for us and for our wellbeing in this world? I believe we are slowly shifting from judging to accepting, being grateful for all those that enter our lives and have an impact on us.

I choose another poem from my Mindfulness Poem Collection entitled Non-Judgment to offer you today.

Non-Judgment

We live to follow our hearts and to be open to what unfolds and crosses our paths

Why are we so anxious about being open to this possibility?

Is it past fears, seeking approval from others or our judging minds?

Remembering that life will continue even if we stay stuck!

What makes you feel like this, unable to move forward and speak your mind?

Cultivating openness and not labeling those experiences as unworthy, unfair, unpleasant.

STOP and notice what is present, your thoughts, your feelings and the sensations in your body.

Welcome them without judgment and explore what arises…

Not good enough…well, here we go again, that judging mind will destroy us.

Listening to the news, believing stories and not researching for factual information leads us to becoming detached and less committed to improving social injustices that surround us. Offering to lend a hand, to give some of your precious time to others, to voice your concerns and to act according to your values is not always easy. Intolerance of unacceptable behaviors, showing we care and committing to participating in driving change will slowly make a difference.

One pebble at a time, can have a ripple effect, all human beings matter. I encourage you to practice non-judgment in your thinking, speaking and acting.
